Individualized Services for Children and their Families

For over 25 years, Carole has worked successfully with a diverse group of children of all ages who have a wide range of language and communication challenges including those on the autism spectrum, executive functioning challenges, developmentally delayed, non-verbal / limited language skills, selective mutism, auditory / language processing challenges, ADHD, down syndrome, deaf and hearing challenges. During the initial consultation, Carole can help you determine what service approach will work best. Here are a few examples of options:

1:1 Language Sessions - A customized whole child approach with motivating and innovative multi-sensory strategies, techniques and materials. We focus upon the child's interests, strengths, challenges and developmental level. This approach has been instrumental in the development and ongoing success of the child's language and learning challenges. Sessions, typically 60 minutes, are done in the privacy of your home and scheduled at optimal times for your child's participation. Available in person throughout Manhattan

Household Survival for Everyday Life - One on One for Those Who Are Non-verbal or Have Limited language and communication skills

This program is for you if your child/young adult is

  • non-verbal
  • presents with limited language and communication skills
  • often struggles just to get through the day

This one-on-one service includes a complete in-home assessment with an information gathering session to hear ongoing concerns, challenges and needs. On the spot, you will receive customized strategies, actionable ideas and tools specifically designed for your family and child to help decrease frustration and make life more manageable at home, school and community.

Household and Homework Survival - One on One for Those Who are Verbal and High functioning

This is for you if you want to Avoid the “Now What!” moment in your home and stop the meltdowns before they start! Emphasis is on time management skills and pinpointing issues that maybe preventing your child from doing their homework independently. Our goals are to:

  • Get up, ready and out the door without a meltdown
  • Start and finish homework and have time for some fun
  • Retain information and hand in assignments on time
  • Stress free transitioning from different situations and activities
  • Learn how to organize your daily life; activities, chores and appointment

Typically, all 1:1 sessions last 1.5- 3 hours with follow up visits as needed. In person appointments are now available throughout Manhattan. Carole is working on the 2023 schedule, so feel free to reach out to discuss your needs in confidence directly to Carole here at carole@cldsolutions.com

Video conferences /consultations available for families throughout the other boroughs and Greater NY area.

SMALL GROUPS- Carole is available to act as a facilitator in your home for supervised small group activity and interaction. She has been successfully organizing these small groups with children and their peers, family members including sibling and grandparents as well as caregivers.  

Social Groups / Supervised "Play Dates"- Building social success, self-confidence and interacting with peers and others in a fun setting. Carole can facilitate success by helping you organize an intimate group of 2-3 children who are able to practice together in a smaller world. In creating small successful interactions, each child is able to increase self-esteem and learn the skills and behaviors necessary to carry over into school, family and other settings. Each child is individually placed so that each of their talents, challenges and needs will complement each other in their peer groups. Groups/Play dates are generally once to twice weekly for up to 75 minutes.
